Panasonic has announced new firmware for the GH6 that will add raw video data output over HDMI in DCI 4K at up to 120fps, as well as more internal recording options.
The new Panasonic GH6 firmware update will give the camera the option to record ProRes raw video at frame rates of up to 119.88p in DCI 4K when used with the Atomos Ninja V+. The GH6 will also be able to record in 5.7K at frame rates up to 59.94p.
People shooting anamorphic will now be able to record in 5.8K at up to 29.97p and in 4.4K at up to 59.94p when using the Ninja V+.
The Panasonic GH6 firmware update will also provide some new internal recording options in the ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes 422 codecs. Users can now record 5.7K at up to 29.97p, Cinema 4K at up to 59.94p and Full HD at up to 59.94p.
The new Panasonic GH6 firmware update – firmware version 2.0 – will be free to download on 5 July 2022.
